Flesh Transfiguration (肉の変容, Niku no Hen'yō) is the 16th chapter of the Gantz manga, written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku.

Kurono is running forwards with his Gantz suit fully powered, with an angry expression. The screen is half normal, half thermal.

Synopsis

The adult alien has just knocked down Kato, who shouts for Kurono to run, holding his slashed wrist. Kurono freezes up when Kato's wrist wound opens further, causing blood to gush out. As the alien walks toward Kato, talking in his native tongue, Kato's wrist still bleeds heavily. The onion alien picks him up by the back of his shirt and prepares to kill him as Kato loses the color in his eyes. Kurono sheds tears and starts screaming as his suit suddenly activates, him charging to Kato's rescue. The dad whirls around to face him and drops Kato, using his claw to try and slash Kurono. In response, Kurono grabs the dad's arms which makes the alien start screaming. Kato lies on the ground, remembering how the alien massacred the other hunters. He then looks up to see his friend struggling against the onion alien, which causes him to comment how he knew that Kurono was awesome. With the alien screaming in his face, Kurono tells Kato to hold on and twists the onion dad's arm, causing him pain and apparently breaking his wrist, the alien backs away as soon as he is let go by Kurono who panting heavily with his suit still maxed out.
