Daytime Lantern (昼行灯, Hiru Andon) is the 162th chapter of the Gantz manga, written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku.

Synopsis

Kurono meeting the other survivors outside of his house before training

The chapter begins with Kei Kurono being scolded by his teacher, being called completely useless and a "daylight lantern". The name sticks and Kurono is berated for the rest of the day, constantly called Daylight Lantern, though he doesn't show much visible strain under the abuse. He is then seen playing basketball by himself in the gymnasium while wearing his Gantz Suit, leaving after breaking the net with the immense strength it provides.

The chapter then briefly shows Kurono traversing Tokyo's rooftops using the Gantz Suit also.

He is then seen in his apartment, watching a commercial starring Reika Shimohira before the idol herself actually knocks on his door, stating that the others are waiting downstairs. When he goes down, Kurono sees the rest of the survivors of the Dinosaur Alien Mission, with the exception of Shion Izumi and Hoi Hoi, and the chapter ends with Kurono on the same rooftop while the others practise using their Gantz Suits also.
