Chapter 72

Grand Feast-o-Death (死の大饗, Shi no Taikyō) is the 72nd chapter of the Gantz manga, written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku.

Synopsis[]

The chapter begins with Akitoshi Okazaki torturing a Buddha Alien, shooting off its legs and blowing off several other body parts before finally shooting it to pieces, taunting it and bragging all the while.

It then transitions to Masaru Kato, Kei Kishimoto, Masanobu Hojo and Sadayo Suzumura, whose suits have all been damaged due to being stepped on by the giant Buddha Alien, but are still functioning. Directly in front of them, said alien is angrily attacking Kei Kurono, who is desperately trying to evade its attacks before he is caught in the aliens massive hands. The alien seems to be about to eat Kurono before Masaru tells the others to shoot at the aliens legs, begging them to save Kurono's life. The desperate attack does no immediate damage to the alien but works regardless, as it attempts to stomp on them and stops trying to devour Kurono. Kurono then shoots the alien several times in the hand while he is caught in its grip, causing it to drop him from a large height.

When Kurono hits the ground, Akitoshi smirks down at him and claims that he will finish off the alien. Akitoshi is picked up almost immediately however and the chapter ends with him screaming for help while Masanobu calls him a dead man for not wearing his suit.
