Chapter 93

The Black Ball's Room (黒い球の部屋, Kuroi Tama no Heya) is the 93rd chapter of the Gantz manga, written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku.

Synopsis[]

The chapter begins directly after the end of the previous one, with Shion Izumi asking Kei Kurono if he knows about the "Black Ball's Room" after the latter escapes from Tachibana's Gang. Kurono is confused by this, questioning whether he really knows about the Tokyo Room, and when Shion states that it is full of dead people, Kurono's suspicions are confirmed. He recalls what Joichiro Nishi said about Kurono's head exploding if he tells anyone about the game, causing Kurono to flatly deny Shion's accusation. Shion then asks whether he knows Gantz specifically, and after a long moment of silence, Kurono asks him what he's talking about. Shion says that it's alright if he doesn't know before asking Kurono if he can go to his house, shocking him, although he gives him permission. Ryouko and two of her friends then appear, relieving Kurono, as Ryouko asks Shion if the two of them can walk home together. Shion tells her no, however, surprising Kurono and distressing Ryouko, and after a brief transition, Kurono and Shion are seen in Kurono's apartment.

Shion asks Kurono if he can use Kurono's computer, which he allows, and Kurono begins to wonder whether Shion has been fighting aliens also. The chapter ends with Shion asking Kurono to look at a website he has just brought up, showing a picture of the Gantz ball and the word "Gantz" in large letters in the middle of the screen.
