A Farmer (ある百姓, Aru hyakushō) is the 1st chapter of the Gantz:E manga, written by Hiroya Oku and illustrated by Jin Kagetsu.

Synopsis[]
Hanbē's mother tells him its time he gets married and he agrees. He goes to O-haru, telling her that they are both 17 years old, that they know each other and that she likes tall guys like him and proposes to her, however she tells him she likes another. Hanbē laughs and wonders who he is and O-haru explains its Masakichi from the neighboring village. Hanbē realizes its one-sided as they have never spoken and wonders if he is strong, which O-haru confirms as he had defeated 10 people in a single fight. Hanbē becomes serious and comments that he wants to meet the shogun and mentions wrestling, however O-haru says that he is saying strange things again.
The next day, Hanbē decides to see Masakichi and heads into the neighboring village. He finds his house, but learns he is in the mountains and goes there. He finds him cutting bamboo with a sword and starts following him. Soon it starts to rain and Masakichi wonders what he wants, however Hanbē asks him why a peasant has a sword, but Masakichi ignores him. Hanbē then challenges him at wrestling and to see who is taller. As Masakichi keeps ignoring him, Hanbē tries to grab him, but Masakichi hits him and they start fighting. Moments later, kids start calling for help as their friend Okinu fell into the river. With no hesitation, Masakichi quickly jumps in the river, while Hanbē tries to tell him the current is too strong. However, seeing Masakichi jumping, Hanbē decides to jump too. They manage to reach the child and throw it out of the water, but are pulled underwater and start to drown. Moments later, they open their eyes in a room with other men and a strange Black Sphere in the middle.
