O-Saki (お咲[おさき]) is the first :veteran in Gantz:E. She appears wearing her Gantz suit underneath her yogi when she's teleported into the room and has survived, though failed, the Miyamoto Musashi mission twice. She knows how the sphere, suits and weapons work, as well as the goal of the missions, and that they need to slay the boss in order to finish them.

Personality[]

O-Saki is an honest woman, determined and strong-willed, who cares about the well-being of her team members. Whenever a new mission starts with new hunters, she yells and pleads them to listeb her instructions, with little success to her remorse. O-Saki intentionally refers to herself as "ore" (俺), a 1st person pronoun used commonly by males and considered rude, and tries to hide her true sex, unsuccessfully (fooling Hanbē only briefly during their first mission). Hanbē points this out during a break in their second mission when he asks if she has a "lover", commenting how the others noticed she is a girl. O-Saki confesses her deceit is rooted in a near gang rape experience she had in a prior mission by some men. Upon hearing this, Hanbē proposes on spot, and she accepts happily so without much thinking.

Story[]

Miyamoto Musashi Alien Mission[]

Teleporting into the temple.[]

She is the last person to be teleported into the temple, already wearing a Gantz suit under her clothes, which means that she has survived at least a mission before. She soon starts telling everyone that they are not dead and that as long as they do what she says, they will be able to return to their lives. This means shes both aware of the nature of the missions and that there is aware of the small amount of time they have before it begins. Only Hanbē and Masakichi listen to her and put the suits on, although the team does take a few suits and weapons before being teletransported into the mission zone.

The mission begins.[]

As the team is teletransported into what appears to be a river, they are soon attacked by the Crow Aliens, a group of armored, spear-wielding aliens with the head of a crow. Both the Gantz team and the aliens separate into two groups, the aliens chasing after the running hunters while the Veteran almost immediately kills one of them, but is quickly overwhelmed by the other crows, before being saved by Hanbē. As they start running towards the rest of the group, she explains that they need to save as many members as possible in order to have any chance beating the mission's boss. They quickly catch up, but not before one of the swordsmen dies, but are still able to save the rest and recover a couple X-Shotguns. Hanbē then asks her where is the boss, to which she answer that he will appear soon, unaware that the boss had already shown himself to Masakichi and company.

Trivia[]

  • Though she is drawn slightly gynandrous, with a seemingly flat chest, she actually has a full bossom, which is flattened by the skintight suit (likely due to ptosis). She plays this to her advantage to hide her true sex, since she almost got raped in a mission by men, however, the outline of her breats can be slightly seen through the layers of clothes in some close up panels during her first appearance.
  • She calls the aliens "Demons" and "Monsters" as in the Edo period (1615-1868), everyone was ignorant of the existence of aliens, and demons, spirits amd monsters were a common belief.
  • She is the first person to kill an Alien in Gantz:E.
